HARTFORD, CT — Two Hartford men were arrested March 11, 2026, after police responded to a report of a man brandishing a firearm at 17 Martin Street.
Northeast District Community Service Officers and patrol units arrived at the parking lot and observed a male matching the suspect description.
As officers approached, the suspect fled on foot and threw a firearm over a fence into the rear of 198 Capen Street.
Officers apprehended the suspect without incident and detained several individuals at the scene.
The firearm was subsequently located and recovered in the parking lot of 198 Capen Street.
During the investigation, officers determined the primary suspect had a criminal history prohibiting him from possessing firearms.
Officers also determined that one of the detained individuals had an active arrest warrant related to a shots fired incident that occurred at the same location last year.
Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility where they were processed and charged.
Sean Mattis, 25, of Hartford, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a large capacity magazine and interfering with an officer.
Jose Rosado, 21, of Hartford, was arrested on a warrant charging him with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal discharge of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Police recovered a Glock 27 .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a large capacity magazine containing 18 live rounds.
