Woman arrested on warrant in Weathersfield

WEATHERSFIELD, VT — A White River Junction woman was arrested on outstanding warrants following a pursuit that crossed state lines.

Deputy Beagle responded to assist the Claremont Police Department with a vehicle that had eluded officers and crossed into Vermont on March 10 at 7 p.m.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Route 131 and the I-91 North on-ramp.

The driver was identified as Brandi Briggs, 46, of White River Junction.

It was determined that Briggs had two outstanding warrants from the State of Vermont.

Deputy Beagle took Briggs into custody without incident.

A narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

As a result, the vehicle was seized pending approval and execution of a search warrant.

Briggs was transported to the Windsor Police Department for processing and subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $500 cash bail.

Briggs is scheduled to appear in Windsor court on March 11 at 12:30 p.m.
