EAST FISHKILL, NY — Three men were arrested following a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway on Monday.
Members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit conducted the traffic stop on a 2016 Mercedes traveling northbound at approximately 11:07 a.m. for violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator was identified as Jazzon D. Foster, 18, of Kingston, New York.
The front-seat passenger was identified as Elijah J. Dunn, 18, of Tillson, New York.
The rear passenger was identified as Shaheem Jackson, 20, of Poughkeepsie, New York.
Following plain-view observations, approximately 8.6 grams of fentanyl was located inside the vehicle, and all three subjects were taken into custody.
Jackson was also found to be in possession of a loaded handgun, which was later determined to have been reported stolen in Connecticut.
Dunn and Foster were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Intent to Sell), a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th, a class C felony.
Jackson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Intent to Sell), a class B felony; Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd: Loaded Firearm, a class C felony; Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug 4th, a class C felony; Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th: Firearm, a class E felony; and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony.
The defendants were arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court.
Foster and Dunn were released on their own recognizance.
Jackson was remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond, or a $140,000 partially secured bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Town of East Fishkill Court.
