NEWARK, NJ — Police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in a package theft that occurred on March 4.
A victim reported that a package delivered to a residence on Melrose Avenue near Grove Terrace was stolen at approximately 6 p.m.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect traveling northbound on Melrose Avenue while riding a bicycle.
The suspect entered the victim’s driveway and took the package from the front porch before fleeing northbound on Melrose Avenue.
The stolen package, from Fashion Nova, included a pair of boy’s jeans, boy’s khaki pants, boy’s and girl’s pajamas, sweatpants, a dress and a pair of heels.
The value of the stolen package was $296.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Black male wearing eyeglasses, a hooded black jacket with a white design on the chest, shoulders and arms, gray pants and white sneakers.
