Woman charged with DUI after rear-end crash in Ephrata

EPHRATA, PA — Police have charged a woman with driving under the influence following a three-vehicle rear-end collision.

Marina Zimmerman, 29, of Narvon, faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .10% and .16%, and careless driving.

Police responded to a vehicle accident in the 400 block of North Reading Road in Ephrata Township at 5:24 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2026.

Officers found a three-vehicle rear-end accident where Zimmerman was the driver of the at-fault vehicle, according to police.

The other vehicles were stopped for a red light.

Police said Zimmerman had an odor of alcohol emanating from her person.

Due to circumstances at the scene, only one standard field sobriety test was conducted, which showed signs of impairment, police said.

Zimmerman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and submitted to a chemical test of blood.

Her blood sample later showed a blood alcohol content of 0.158%, according to police.
