Man arrested on criminal refusal charge in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, VT — A man was arrested on a criminal refusal charge after showing up at a residence while appearing intoxicated.

On March 8, 2026, at 8:54 p.m., the Vermont State Police of the St. Albans Barracks were advised of a suspicious incident at an address on East Bakersfield Road.

Complainants told dispatch that an unknown man had arrived at their house in his vehicle and appeared very intoxicated.

While on scene, troopers observed overwhelming signs of intoxication and impairment.

Eugene Webber-McCollaum, 33, of Jeffersonville, was arrested on a criminal refusal charge and issued a citation.

He was released to Northwestern Correctional Facility for detox.
