BENTON, NY — A man was arrested on felony DWI charges following a motor vehicle accident on State Route 364.
Michael J. Casciani, 39, of Branchport, was taken into custody after Yates County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported crash on State Route 364 near County House Road at 6:02 p.m. March 7.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Casciani, who displayed several signs of intoxication, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Casciani performed a series of standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested.
He was charged with DWI common law (felony), DWI 0.08% or greater BAC (felony), aggravated DWI 0.18% or greater BAC (felony), and moved from lane unsafely.
Casciani was transported to the Yates County Jail, where he is being held until the next session of Yates County CAP Court for arraignment.
