WEBSTER, MA — Two people wanted on drug trafficking and firearms charges were arrested early Wednesday morning after one was found hiding in a closet beneath a stairwell.
Webster Police Officers, Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section troopers and U.S. Marshals surrounded an apartment at 32 Market Street at approximately 5:56 a.m. on March 4.
State Police had information that Maryjane Swenson was staying at the apartment and was wanted for numerous firearms and drug trafficking offenses.
Webster Police also had information that Ryan Hassett, wanted for trafficking fentanyl, was staying inside the same apartment.
Law enforcement attempted to talk the occupants out of the apartment, but they refused to open the door.
After approximately 25 minutes, officers forced entry into the apartment.
Swenson was immediately taken into custody in the kitchen area.
An initial search failed to locate Hassett.
During a secondary search, Hassett was found hiding inside a long closet in the rear of the apartment that went underneath a stairwell.
He had concealed himself under numerous items of clothing and other household items and was subsequently taken into custody.
Swenson, 34, of Oxford, was arrested by State Police on warrants charging her with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, two counts of possession to distribute crack cocaine, two counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device, trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine over 200 grams, possession of an untraceable firearm and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Hassett, 34, of Webster, was arrested by Webster officers on warrants charging him with trafficking fentanyl, possession of a Class A controlled substance, possession of a Class B controlled substance and operating after suspension.
