Two arrested on drug charges in Wolcott

WOLCOTT, NY — New York State Police arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on State Route 104.

David L. Liechti, 43, of Wolcott, and Rose Nageldinger, 22, of Port Byron, were taken into custody March 5, 2026.

Troopers conducted the traffic stop at approximately 10:50 p.m. on a 2011 Honda for a vehicle and traffic violation.

A records check revealed Liechti had an active probation warrant out of Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, and authorities confirmed they would extradite him.

During a vehicle inventory, troopers seized approximately 15.4 grams of suspected heroin, approximately 3.24 grams of suspected crack cocaine, packaging materials, digital scales, glass smoking devices and $1,028 in U.S. currency.

Controlled substances were also discovered in Nageldinger’s possession, police said.

Liechti was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony; and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

He was also held on the fugitive from justice warrant.

Nageldinger was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony; and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Both were transported to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment.
