COBLESKILL, NY — A Richmondville man faces multiple charges after allegedly crashing into a patrol car and fleeing the scene Wednesday night.

Alan M. Sperbeck, 25, of Richmondville, was arrested following the incident on West Main Street in the Village of Cobleskill.

According to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was conducting a traffic stop at approximately 11:48 p.m. when Sperbeck turned his vehicle west from Veteran’s Drive onto West Main Street and drove directly into the rear of the patrol vehicle.

Sperbeck then fled the scene, ignoring commands from the deputy to pull over, authorities said.

The deputy pursued Sperbeck and stopped him a short distance down the roadway.

Sperbeck was found to be intoxicated, and a chemical test revealed his blood alcohol content to be 0.23 percent, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sperbeck was charged with aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and numerous other charges.

He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Cobleskill Court on March 31.
