Doctor arrested on sex abuse charges in New Hyde Park

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A Roslyn doctor was arrested on charges of sexual abuse and forcible touching following an incident at a medical office.

Mark Hoffman, 71, of Roslyn, was arrested Thursday without incident by Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, Hoffman had unwanted sexual contact with a 48-year-old female patient during a routine oncology appointment at Optum Hematology Oncology, located at 2800 Marcus Avenue, on May 9 at 12:00 p.m.

The defendant and the victim were alone in the exam room without the presence of a nurse, police said.

Hoffman was charged with sexual abuse in the second degree and forcible touching.
