Man arrested on assault charges in Pen Argyl

PEN ARGYL, PA — A 28-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested Feb. 12 following a domestic assault incident.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 4:27 p.m. to a domestic incident in progress.

A female victim reported being assaulted by her boyfriend while they were driving in a vehicle through Pen Argyl.

The victim was able to exit the vehicle and escape while the male fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle with their children.

Officers contacted the victim and observed injuries consistent with the reported assault.

The male was identified as Kyle Eugene Pengilly-Rarick of Pennsylvania.

Officers were familiar with Pengilly-Rarick and were aware his driver’s license was suspended and he had an active warrant out of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers located Pengilly-Rarick and the children still in the vehicle at the Gateway Motel in the 700 block of West Pennsylvania Avenue.

Pengilly-Rarick was taken into custody for his warrant and the domestic-related assault on the victim.

He was transported to the Northampton County Prison where he was lodged.

Pengilly-Rarick was charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment and driving under suspension.
