GENEVA, NY — A former middle school teacher was arrested Tuesday on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.
Trista L. Corey, 33, of Geneva, was taken into custody at approximately 10 a.m. by members of the Geneva Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in December at Corey’s home.
Police allege Corey provided a person under the age of 17 with psilocybin mushrooms, a controlled substance.
Corey was a teacher at the Geneva City School District at the time of the alleged incident.
She was processed at the Geneva Police Department and issued an appearance ticket to return to City Court at a later date.
Corey was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Geneva Police Department is working with the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and the Geneva City School District.
