CHARLESTON, ME — A woman was arrested on new drug charges during a bail check at a residence on Puddle Dock Road.
Lou Ann Smock, 67, of Charleston, was taken into custody at approximately 1:45 p.m. March 2, 2026, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Smock was out on bail stemming from a previous charge of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs.
In that case, deputies had served a search warrant and located approximately 1,000 grams of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.
During the bail check, a supervisor observed Smock attempting to conceal or destroy evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.
The supervisor intervened and prevented the destruction of the materials.
Deputies discovered Smock was in possession of methamphetamine.
Smock was charged with unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs and violation of conditions of release.
She was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
