Man arrested on child pornography charges in Dover

DOVER, NH — A Dover man has been arrested following a child pornography investigation.

James Gadwah, 64, of Dover, was arrested Feb. 27 after Dover Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging him with four counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, all felony offenses.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began after Dover Police received a tip from the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Investigators identified Gadwah as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest and a search warrant for his property.

Gadwah was taken into custody after a brief physical struggle and was additionally charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

The search resulted in the seizure of electronic evidence that will require further analysis and investigation.

In accordance with state law, Gadwah was not eligible for bail and was held at the Strafford County House of Corrections.

He was arraigned March 2 in the 7th Circuit Court – District Division – Dover, where a judge ordered he remain held in preventative detention.

The ICAC Task Force is a statewide initiative dedicated to investigating offenders who exploit children online; the Dover Police Department is a participating affiliate of this task force.
