CHARLTON, NY — New York State Police arrested seven motorists on driving while intoxicated charges across the Capital Region over a nine-day period in February.
On Feb. 15 at about 3:19 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on Packer Road in Charlton for numerous vehicle and traffic violations after it nearly struck a marked patrol vehicle.
The driver was identified as Morgan R. Dunbar, 54, of Weston, Connecticut.
Dunbar was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Charlton for processing where he recorded a 0.24% blood alcohol content.
Dunbar was issued tickets returnable to Charlton Town Court on March 5 and released to a sober third party.
On Feb. 15 at about 5:58 p.m., State Police responded to the area of State Route 9 in Malta for the report of an intoxicated person.
During the investigation, troopers located an uninvolved running vehicle parked nearby with the driver asleep at the wheel.
The driver was identified as Frederick R. Reed, 54, of Ballston Spa.
Reed was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to State Police Saratoga for processing where he recorded a 0.20% BAC.
Reed was issued tickets returnable to Malta Town Court on March 19 and released to a sober third party.
On Feb. 15 at about 11:13 p.m., State Police stopped a car on Interstate 87 in Wilton for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
The vehicle initially failed to comply but pulled over after a brief pursuit.
The driver was identified as Matthew G. Delos, 21, of Enfield, New Hampshire.
Delos was arrested for unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, driving while intoxicated and numerous other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Saratoga for processing where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.
Delos was issued tickets returnable to Wilton Town Court on March 10 and released to a sober third party.
On Feb. 19 at about 11:51 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on 4th Street in Troy for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
The driver was identified as Casey R. Andrews, 42, of Troy.
Andrews was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Brunswick for processing where he recorded a 0.19% BAC.
Andrews was issued tickets returnable to Troy City Court on March 19 and released.
On Feb. 22 at about 1:18 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on 2nd Avenue in Watervliet for vehicle and traffic law violations.
The driver was identified as Damon C. Yarde, 28, of Tamarac, Florida.
Yarde was determined to not have a valid driver’s license.
Yarde was arrested for driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Latham for processing where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood.
Further investigation determined that Yarde has had a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years.
Yarde was issued tickets returnable to Watervliet City Court on March 10 and released to a sober third party.
On Feb. 22 at about 2:45 p.m., State Police responded to a two-car crash in the area of Crescent Vischer Ferry Road in Halfmoon.
One of the drivers was identified as Nicholas P. Travis, 42, of Clifton Park.
Travis was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
He was transported to State Police Clifton Park for processing where he recorded a 0.22% BAC.
Travis was issued tickets returnable to Halfmoon Town Court on March 25 and released to a sober party.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
