BRISTOL, VT — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Vermont Route 116 South and Vermont Route 17 East sent one person to the hospital Saturday morning.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 8:46 a.m. Feb. 28.
The investigation revealed that a 2016 Toyota 4Runner operated by James Lane, 35, of Black River, New York, was traveling eastbound on Vermont Route 17.
Lane made a complete stop at a posted stop sign before entering the four-way intersection.
A 2009 Subaru Forrester operated by Tina Robinson, 49, of Castleton, was traveling northbound on Vermont Route 116 South and failed to stop at a posted stop sign before entering the intersection.
The Subaru passed in front of the Toyota, and the Toyota struck the driver’s side of the Subaru in the intersection.
Robinson was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Porter Hospital for suspected minor injuries.
Lane was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
A passenger in the Toyota and a passenger in the Subaru were not injured.
The Subaru sustained damage to the driver’s side front and rear panels, while the Toyota sustained heavy front-end damage.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Bristol Rescue Squad, Bristol Fire Department, Snow and Tow Services, and CDR towing.
Robinson was cited for failure to stop or yield at an intersection with a seat belt enhancement.
