COHOES, NY — A local man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a handgun during an argument on a city street last week.
Christopher Kelly Jr., 18, of Cohoes, was arrested following an incident that occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the area of Main Street and Schuyler Street.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot and conducted a neighborhood canvass while reviewing surveillance footage.
The footage showed several people arguing when one of them produced a handgun and fired once, according to police.
Officers discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in the front driver-side fender of a parked vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Kelly was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree (loaded firearm), a class C felony; criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree (display of a weapon), a class C felony; and reckless endangerment in the 1st degree, a class D felony.
He was arraigned in Cohoes City Court before Judge Galarneau and remanded without bail to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
The investigation remains ongoing.
