Search warrant executed in Sanford

SANFORD, ME — Police executed a search warrant at a Main Street residence this afternoon in connection with an alleged sex trafficking investigation.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Sanford Police Department conducted the search at 1328 Main Street, Unit 5, just after 4 p.m.

The warrant affidavit was applied for by the department’s detective division and authorized by Biddeford Court.

The search stemmed from corroborated information related to sex trafficking.

Officers completed the search without incident and did not encounter any problems.

The York County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations assisted in the operation.

Police said the assisting agencies provided unique resources that allowed them to better serve victims and prosecute offenders.

Victims of trafficking were offered services.

Police said they will not disclose the identity of the victims or the outcome of services offered due to ongoing danger posed to them.
