Man arrested on arson charge in Wilton

WILTON, NY — State Police arrested a 69-year-old man on arson and burglary charges stemming from a December garage fire.

Brian A. Lemery of Moreau was taken into custody on Feb. 23, 2026.

He faces charges of third-degree arson, a class C felony; third-degree burglary, a class D felony; and second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony.

Troopers responded to a report of a garage fire on Jackson Road in Moreau on Dec. 3, 2024.

The investigation determined that Lemery allegedly entered the garage without permission and intentionally started the fire.

The fire caused more than $1,500 worth of damage to the structure.

Lemery was arrested at his home and transported to State Police barracks in Wilton for processing.

He was arraigned at Saratoga County Court, where he was released under the supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
