WALLKILL, NY — A custodial employee of the Middletown School District was arrested early Thursday morning on weapons and drug-impaired driving charges.
Police Officer Macen DeLesio conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 3:07 a.m. on the grounds of Middletown High School on Gardner Avenue Extension.
DeLesio determined the operator was driving while under the influence of a substance and placed him under arrest.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a loaded Taurus GC3, 9mm caliber handgun.
Ralph Sabater, 39, of Wallkill, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, criminal possession of a firearm in a sensitive location, driving while ability impaired by drugs and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Sabater was issued an appearance ticket to appear before Town of Wallkill Judge Peter Green on March 18 at 9 a.m. in Town of Wallkill Court.
