Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Albany

ALBANY, NY — State Police arrested a man on child sexual exploitation charges following an investigation that began with a cyber tip.

Anthony E. Morrison, 42, of Albany, was arrested Feb. 25, 2026, and charged with Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.

Morrison is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

State Police from Latham executed a search warrant at Morrison’s residence in Albany on Feb. 25, 2026.

The Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security assisted in the investigation.

Morrison was arrested at the scene and transported to State Police barracks in Latham for processing.

He was arraigned at Guilderland Town Court and released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.
