WHITEHALL, NY — A 55-year-old man was arrested Monday on charges of performing lewd acts in his vehicle where he could be seen by others, including a juvenile.
Jeffrey M. Zakrzewski, of Gansevoort, New York, was charged with obscenity in the 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and public lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, according to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigation determined that Zakrzewski was observed masturbating within his vehicle on Poultney Street in the Village of Whitehall where he could be seen by other people, one being a juvenile.
The Fair Haven Police Department is investigating a similar case from Feb. 10 involving Zakrzewski.

Zakrzewski was processed at the Sheriff’s Office and released on appearance tickets to appear in the Village of Whitehall Court on March 9, 2026.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and Fair Haven Police Department assisted in the investigation.
