BOSTON, MA — Two men were arrested early Monday on charges of tagging property during blizzard conditions in South Boston.
Anders Hubbard, 24, of Braintree, and Elton Ernest, 23, of Somerville, were taken into custody by officers assigned to District C-6.
At approximately 12:06 a.m., police responded to the area of 197 W Second Street for a report of vandalism in progress.
Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of two possible suspects who were tagging a building across the street.
Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals walking down C Street towards W First Street.
Due to the ongoing blizzard conditions and limited foot traffic at that time, officers stopped both individuals.
Hubbard had paint splatter on his jacket and was clutching an object in his right jacket pocket, which was determined to be a can of spray paint.
After a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a second can of spray paint from Hubbard and a blue tote bag containing two paint cans and three paint pens from Ernest.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
