RAYMOND, NH — A 31-year-old man was arrested Thursday after barricading himself in a bedroom during a warrant service, authorities said.
Randy Elwell, of Raymond, was taken into custody by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force on Feb. 19.
Sheriff’s deputies and deputy U.S. marshals went to a residence to arrest Elwell on warrants for felon in possession of a deadly weapon, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon and marital non-support.
Elwell refused to comply with orders to leave the residence and barricaded himself in a bedroom, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement deployed oleoresin capsicum into the structure to resolve the situation.
After a brief standoff, sheriff’s deputies and deputy U.S. marshals entered the home and arrested Elwell.
In addition to the original warrants, Elwell was charged with resisting arrest, breach of bail and stalking.
He is being held without bail at the Rockingham County Jail.
The Raymond Police and Fire Departments and the United States Marshals Service District of New Hampshire assisted in the operation.
