FAIRFIELD, NJ — A Passaic man is facing multiple charges after allegedly holding a victim at knifepoint outside a business on Feb. 16.
Danilo Suero, 24, of Passaic, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
At approximately 9:40 a.m., the victim arrived at his place of employment, David’s Cookies, located at 28 Industrial Road in Fairfield.
Police say Suero parked next to the victim, entered his vehicle, placed a knife to his throat, and threatened him.
The victim was able to video record part of the interaction.
Suero then left the vehicle without further incident.
The victim contacted police headquarters and officers took a statement and reviewed video surveillance.
Police say the motive for the incident was that Suero was not pleased with how the victim was treating one of his family members.
On Feb. 20, Suero surrendered himself to Fairfield authorities, accompanied by his attorney.
He was processed, served with his charges and released pending an initial appearance at the Essex County Courthouse.
