Man charged with weapon, drug offenses in Crown Point

CROWN POINT, NY — A 47-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening a victim with weapons during a domestic dispute.

New York State Police charged Colby B. English, of Crown Point, with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (intent to use), two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree (previous conviction), criminal mischief in the 3rd degree, and two counts of menacing in the 2nd degree.

Troopers responded to Pearl Street in the town of Crown Point at approximately 11:34 a.m. on Feb. 18, 2026, for a domestic dispute.

An investigation determined that English was acting irate inside the residence.

During the altercation, he allegedly brandished a metal bar and an axe handle while making threatening remarks toward the victim.

English also damaged items inside the residence during the incident.

He was taken into custody and transported to SP Schroon Lake for processing.

During a safety search, English was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and narcotics.

English was arraigned in the Town of Crown Point Court and remanded to the Essex County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
