BOSTON, MA — A Franklin man was arrested Thursday night near TD Garden after officers recovered a stolen rental bicycle.

Hunter Guest, 23, of Franklin, was taken into custody about 8:48 p.m. on Feb. 19 and charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200.

Officers working a paid detail at TD Garden were flagged down by a victim who reported his Boston Blue Bike had just been stolen.

The victim told police he had rented the bike when a suspect took it from him.

Using a tracking feature, the victim provided officers with the bike’s updated location and a description of the suspect.

Officers spotted a man matching the description walking a bike toward Causeway Street as they approached Haverhill Street.

Police stopped the suspect, who denied stealing the bike but could not explain where he had rented it from.

The bike was returned to the victim, who confirmed the Blue Bike number.

Guest is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

Officers also determined Guest had five active warrants out of Milford District Court for assault and battery on a public employee, trespass, shoplifting by concealing merchandise, unarmed robbery and assault and battery.
