Man arrested on theft charges in Prospect Park

PROSPECT PARK, NJ — A man was arrested on multiple theft charges following reports of package thefts in the area.

Officer Maruri arrested the suspect on Brown Avenue on Wednesday while on patrol after noticing a male matching the description of a suspect shown in surveillance footage from residents.

The man was charged with one count of theft by Officer Maruri and turned over to Det. Bonagura, who charged him with four additional counts of theft.

The suspect was released pending a court appearance.

The investigation remains ongoing.
