POWNAL, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Bennington man on multiple charges following a traffic stop on County Road on Feb. 19, 2026.
Leon Lovelace, 30, of Bennington, was stopped after troopers observed a traffic violation.
During the stop, troopers observed multiple indicators of impairment, according to police.
A child was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the stop.
Police also discovered Lovelace was driving with a criminally suspended license.
Lovelace was arrested on suspicion of DUI third offense with refusal, reckless endangerment and driving with a criminally suspended license.
He was transported to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing.
Lovelace was released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Bennington Criminal Division, on March 9, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.
