AK-47 seized in Somerville drug investigation

SOMERVILLE, MA — Federal agents seized an AK-47 firearm as part of an ongoing drug conspiracy investigation.

The Drug Enforcement Administration New England Division announced the seizure on social media.

The agency did not release additional details about the investigation or any arrests.

Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the investigation, including Massachusetts State Police, Tewksbury police, Salem, New Hampshire police, Nashua police, Methuen police, Lowell police, Somerville police, Melrose police, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.
