Suspect flees on moped after larceny in Waterford

WATERFORD, CT — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect who stole merchandise from a Dollar General store and fled from officers on a moped.

The theft occurred at 5:51 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2026 at the Dollar General located at 75 Boston Post Road.

The suspect left the store on a dark-colored moped with stolen merchandise, according to police.

A responding officer attempted to stop the moped, but the suspect fled westbound on Willetts Avenue and failed to yield to the officer’s signal.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect, though the image quality is grainy.
