BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A juvenile was stabbed multiple times on Walnut Street on Feb. 17, 2026, prompting an intensive investigation that led to an arrest warrant being issued.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 12:57 p.m. in the area of Walnut Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers quickly began rendering aid and established a crime scene.
The Bloomfield Fire Department and Bloomfield EMS also responded and assisted with efforts.
The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment and is currently recovering.
Following an investigation, detectives identified and developed probable cause to charge Johan C. Ibarra.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Ibarra on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
