PORTLAND, ME — Police are investigating a shots fired incident near a church on Allen Avenue.
Officers responded to the area of 91 Allen Avenue at 10:54 p.m. Thursday for a report of shots fired.
Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate any damage at that time.
On Friday, officers responded to the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 91 Allen Avenue for a report of a shattered glass door that appeared to have been struck by a projectile.
Investigators believe the damage is related to the report from the previous evening.
On Monday, the Portland Police Department’s Special Reaction Team executed a high-risk search warrant on Allen Avenue and conducted two high-risk traffic stops believed to be connected to the incident.
At this time, it does not appear the church was specifically targeted.
The investigation remains ongoing.
