MARATHON, NY — State Police arrested two people following a domestic dispute investigation on West Main Street.
Troopers were dispatched to a residence after a victim contacted 911 to report a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, the victim stated she no longer required assistance.
During the investigation, troopers determined the individual the victim initially requested to be removed was Isaac D. Faircloth, 23, of no known address.
Troopers discovered Faircloth had an active arrest warrant with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department.
Troopers observed Faircloth fleeing the residence.
When troopers attempted to make contact with Faircloth, the victim physically placed herself in front of troopers, slowing their response and interfering with their attempt to take Faircloth into custody.
Jayden-Lyn Rose Stevens, 19, of Marathon, was arrested and charged with the misdemeanors of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Stevens was transported to State Police Marathon where she was processed and transported to the Cortland County Jail for centralized arraignment.
A trooper pursued Faircloth on foot but initially lost sight of him after he gained distance.
Troopers later received information that Faircloth was hiding inside a detached garage on Front Street.
Troopers entered the garage and located Faircloth, who attempted to flee again but was taken into custody.
Faircloth was charged with the misdemeanors of criminal trespass in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and resisting arrest.
Faircloth was transported to State Police Homer and then transported to the Cortland County Jail for centralized arraignment.
