WATERVLIET, NY — Police arrested a man on drunken driving charges after a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 1 a.m. after observing violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law in the area of Broadway and 7th Street.
During the traffic stop, officers observed several indicators of intoxication and impairment from the operator.
Following the roadside investigation, the male was placed into custody for suspected driving while intoxicated.
The driver was found to be operating the vehicle impaired with a passenger under the age of 12.
Police charged Isa A. Coleman, 47, of Schenectady, with aggravated DWI – Leandra’s Law, a class E felony, driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
This marks Coleman’s third arrest for driving under the influence.
Coleman was remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility.
