MACHIAS, NY — A man was arrested on multiple animal cruelty and weapon charges following the execution of search warrants Feb. 13.
Kerry Eldridge was arrested at about 7 a.m. on four counts of failure to provide proper food/drink/care for his four dogs, one count of failure to provide proper care for his dogs, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest followed a lengthy investigation.
Search warrants were executed in the town by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, K9 units Nitro and Echo, the Cattaraugus County Special Response Team and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.
The search led to the seizure of four dogs, a shotgun and drug paraphernalia.
Eldridge was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
He is due back in Machias Town Court at a later date.
