Two arrested in sweepstakes scam in Central Islip

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Suffolk County Police arrested two New York City men for allegedly scamming a 92-year-old man out of $250,000.

Oral Durloo and Brandon Nairne, both of New York City, were taken into custody in connection with the fraud scheme.

Police said the victim was told he won $18 million in a sweepstakes and was asked to pay taxes and fees via check and cash to claim the prize.

The Suffolk County Police Department is asking anyone who believes they were contacted by these individuals to contact them immediately.
