TRENTON, NY — A Cold Brook man faces felony charges after deputies found him unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the middle of a road early Sunday morning.
Michael D. Stanczyk, 61, of Cold Brook, was arrested following a welfare check and traffic investigation on State Street in the Town of Trenton, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2 a.m. after receiving a report of a motor vehicle stopped in the middle of the road with a male operator unconscious in the driver’s seat.
A deputy assigned to the STOP DWI unit conducted an investigation and arrested Stanczyk for driving while intoxicated.
Stanczyk was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, a Class E felony, and other traffic violations.
He was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing and held at the Oneida County Jail pending arraignment at CAP Court.
