ARLINGTON, VT — A Vermont State Police investigation determined that an Irving Oil tanker truck left the roadway and rolled onto its side on Laver Road near Anninas Way on Feb. 15, 2026.

Troopers from the Shaftsbury Barracks were notified of the crash at 9:10 a.m.

The operator, Michael J. Parker, 54, of Whitehall, New York, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Parker was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The 2025 Freightliner M2 tanker truck was totaled.

Troopers and firefighters on scene determined the oil truck was leaking into a nearby stream.

The Vermont HAZMAT Response Team was dispatched for an emergency response.

The stream was dammed to prevent hazardous spillage from polluting nearby waterways.

Fuel was pumped from the tanker truck until it was emptied and the truck could be turned upright.

Teams remained on scene to clear the area of pollution by pumping out the contaminated water and until the truck could be removed.

Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Rescue Squad, Manchester Fire Department and Vermont DMV Police responded to provide mutual aid.

Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash, while weather conditions were clear.
