BRAINTREE, MA — A man barricaded himself inside a residence on Skyline Drive for several hours before being taken into custody on Feb. 14.
The Braintree Police Department responded to 55 Skyline Drive at approximately 7:15 a.m. to conduct a well-being check.
Officers attempted to make contact at the residence but received no response at the door.
Based on prior history at the address and concern for the occupant’s welfare, officers made the determination to forcibly enter the residence to ensure the safety of those inside.
After breaching the door, an adult female exited the residence.
A male party remained inside and barricaded himself within the residence.
Officers immediately secured the scene and established a perimeter.
A negotiator from the Weymouth Police Department responded to assist.
Following negotiations, the male individual exited the residence and was taken into custody at approximately 10:15 a.m. without further incident.
The male party has been identified as Lamont Sands, 35, of Holbrook.
Sands was arrested on four outstanding warrants for violations of a 209A restraining order.
The Braintree Police Department was assisted by the Weymouth Police Department, Holbrook Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police K-9 Unit.
