Two-car collision on State Route 86 in North Elba

NORTH ELBA, NY — New York State Police responded to State Route 86 for a two-car collision at approximately 8:46 a.m. Feb. 12, 2026.

An investigation determined that a white 2019 Mazda, operated by Kimberly B. Hartman, 30, of Saranac Lake, was traveling eastbound on State Route 86 when the operator failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the westbound lane, and struck a gray 2021 GMC.

The GMC was operated by Jack A. Moody, 68, of Tupper Lake, and occupied by passenger Angela L. Moody, 47, also of Tupper Lake.

Hartman and Angela L. Moody were transported to Adirondack Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Jack Moody was issued a vehicle and traffic ticket returnable to the Town of North Elba Court for a later date.
