DANNEMORA, NY — New York State Police responded to Lowenburg Road for a reported snowmobile collision at approximately 9:25 p.m. Feb. 11, 2026.
An investigation determined that a red and black 2011 snowmobile, operated by John L. Bushey, 55, of Altona, was traveling on a designated trail when it exited the trail and struck a tree head-on.
Local fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene and provided medical assistance.
Bushey was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
While at the hospital, troopers interviewed Bushey and observed signs of impairment.
Bushey consented to a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol content.
The investigation remains ongoing.
