BIDDEFORD, ME — Police arrested a man on a bail violation charge after responding to a reported physical altercation at a residence on Hill Street on Feb. 1, 2026.

Wayne Roberts, 54, of Biddeford, was identified as one of the individuals involved in the incident.

The Biddeford Regional Communications Center received a phone call reporting screaming was heard during the altercation.

The other individual involved was a protected party in a set of bail conditions belonging to Roberts from a previous domestic violence arrest.

Roberts would not answer the door when officers arrived.

A Biddeford Police officer obtained a search warrant for the residence.

Officers executed the search warrant and located Roberts in direct violation of his bail conditions.

Roberts refused to submit to arrest or detention.

The victim was located unharmed.

Roberts was charged with refusing to submit to arrest or detention, physical force, a Class D offense, and violating conditions of release, a Class E offense.

A bail commissioner determined bail was not an option due to the underlying charges of Roberts’ conditions of release.

Roberts was brought to the York County Jail.
