WARRINGTON, PA — A 67-year-old woman was cited for disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening passengers with a weapon on a SEPTA bus Feb. 10.
Warrington officers were dispatched to the intersection of Easton Road and Maple Avenue at approximately 2:32 p.m. for a report of a disorderly passenger on a bus.
A caller alleged that a female passenger was brandishing a knife and making threats.
Upon arrival, witnesses stated the female had been shouting obscenities and racial slurs at other passengers.
Officers located the subject, identified as Joan Merritt, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, at a nearby Wawa.
Merritt admitted to the verbal altercation but claimed the weapon reported was a pair of cuticle scissors.
Officers noted that Merritt continued to use racial slurs during the investigation.
Merritt was subsequently cited for disorderly conduct.
