WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, PA — A 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after deputies found him carrying an unregistered handgun during a welfare check.
Deputy Boulter and Deputy Brower responded to the area of Mt. Hope near Waterloo Munith Road at 12:13 p.m. after central dispatch reported a male subject who appeared lost and disoriented.
Deputies made contact with a man matching the description provided by dispatch.
The man told deputies he was in possession of a firearm.
The man did not have a concealed pistol license, and the weapon was registered to another person in the Detroit area, according to the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff.
The man was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County jail pending charges.
