EGG HARBOR CITY, NJ — A 19-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a January shooting on Cincinnati Avenue.
Shawn Thorpe, of Egg Harbor City, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of certain persons not to possess weapons, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
The Atlantic SWAT Team executed three court-authorized search warrants and one court-authorized vehicle search warrant within Egg Harbor City on Friday.
The investigation was conducted by the Egg Harbor City Police Department with assistance from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Thorpe was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending further court proceedings.
Additionally, Gayla Hart, 31, of Egg Harbor City, was taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants and was subsequently released following processing.
The Egg Harbor City Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police and the Atlantic City Police Department SWAT Team.
