Bus collides with guiderail on State Route 825 in Oneida County

ONEIDA COUNTY, NY — A bus collided with a guiderail on the State Route 825 and State Route 49 westbound on-ramp on Feb. 11, 2026.

Deputies responded to the one-vehicle personal injury accident at approximately 1:48 p.m., according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Rachel E. Gelormino, 30, of Rome.

Through investigation, deputies determined Gelormino lost control of the 2025 bus owned by STA of America, subsequently colliding with the guiderail on the southern shoulder of the roadway.

Gelormino sustained minor injuries during the accident.

She was evaluated by EMS on scene and transported to Rome Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Deputies determined that slippery road conditions caused the bus to slide and collide with the guiderail.

Deputies were assisted on scene by AmCare Ambulance, Rome Fire Department and Clinton Collision.
