GEORGIA, VT — A St Albans man escaped injury after losing control of his vehicle on Interstate 89 South on Wednesday morning.
Nathan Stevens, 26, was traveling southbound in the right lane near mile marker 110.2 at approximately 9:02 a.m. when his 2010 Honda Accord hit slush on the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.
Stevens lost control of the vehicle, which veered off and struck the right guardrail.
The Honda then bounced off the right guardrail and struck the left guardrail, coming to rest facing east and blocking the left passing lane.
Stevens was wearing a seat belt and sustained no injuries.
Police said Stevens showed no signs of impairment.
The vehicle’s airbags deployed and the Honda was totaled.
Stones Garage towed the vehicle from the scene.
The left lane was blocked briefly before traffic flow was restored.
Road conditions at the time included slush and ice, and snow was falling.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police St Albans Barracks investigated the crash.
