Two arrested on fraud charges in Exeter

EXETER, RI — Two people were arrested on multiple fraud charges following a Rhode Island State Police investigation.

Troopers arrested Pedro Madrid, 37, of Exeter, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at 12:40 p.m. at his residence.

Madrid faces charges of obtaining property by false pretenses/personation over $10,000, access to computer for fraudulent purposes, fraudulently obtaining public assistance over $500, fraudulent use of food stamps over $500 and giving false document to agent, employee or public official.

He was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed and then transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.

The following day, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 12:40 p.m., troopers arrested Dena Titus, 48, of Exeter, at the same residence.

Titus faces charges of obtaining property by false pretenses/personation over $10,000, access to computer for fraudulent purposes, fraudulently obtaining public assistance over $500, fraudulent use of food stamps over $500, conspiracy – felony less than five years and giving false document to agent, employee or public official.

She was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where she was processed and then transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
